Latest FATF assessment sees improvements for Jamaica’s biggest AML concerns, but gaps remain ahead of ‘grey list’ removal target date

Jamaica’s latest efforts to improve its technical AML compliance and please the Financial Action Task Force have gained mixed results.

It can find comfort in the fact that no aspects of its technical compliance now carry the FATF’s worst rating. However, much of its performance still doesn’t carry good enough grades. Enough aspects have been flagged for concern to mean the country remains in ‘enhanced follow-up’ with the international financial crime watchdog.
