US watchdog’s budget may be effectively double under new budget plans; request from Biden government proposes increase of annual funding to $191M

The US financial crimes watchdog could be in for a 50% budget boost to aid in the development of its new beneficial ownership registry.

Information from a discretionary budget request released by Joe Biden’s government includes a $64M hike in funding for the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
