INSIGHT: Non-financial firms key reason why Euro countries are marked down in AML assessment, MONEVAL official tells conference

INSTITUTIONS OUTSIDE traditional finance are causing the biggest headaches for the Council of Europe in its assessment of anti-money laundering defences, it has been claimed.

Andrew Le Brun, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Council’s AML monitoring body MONEYVAL said that it is one of several problems which leaves “room for improvement” as the agency makes its way across the continent, reviewing AML defences.
