FinCrime professionals were today celebrating National Financial Crime Fighter Day, which recognises the US Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), passed by the US Congress in 1970.
This act was introduced to implement better anti-money laundering practices and prevent FinCrime in the United States. The BSA was reinforced following the 9/11 terrorist attacks after the US Congress introduced the USA Patriot Act in 2001.
