LATVIA’S chances of hosting Europe’s new AML Authority were struck a serious blow today when the parliament in Riga failed to re-appoint anti-financial crime chief Ilze Znotina.

Ilze is widely seen as the leader who turned around Latvia’s reputation as the lagger in anti-financial crime regulation.
