SCOTT Russell, a former executive at German multinational software firm SAP, has been appointed CEO of Israeli software provider NICE.

He will assume the role on January 1, 2025. He succeeds Barak Eilam, who will retire at the end of the year.

Mr Eilam, who spent more than 10 years as CEO and 25 years at NICE, will stay on as a strategic consultant until mid-2025.

Mr Scott has been at SAP for the last 14 years. Most recently, he served as the company’s Global Chief Revenue Officer.

NICE provides multiple different types of software and artificial intelligence (AI) programs.

In February, its NICE Actimize business announced three generative AI-based programs designed to fight financial crime.

NICE has said these can offer “up to a 50% reduction in investigation time” and a “70% time savings” in filing SARs (Suspicious Activity Reports).

These include a risk case management platform called ActOne, which aims to cut down on the manual tasks needed to combat financial crime.

NICE has said that ActOne is used by over 300,000 analysts and investigators daily.
