NEWS: Big win for Malta’s FIAU as court upholds major fine handed to payments company

MALTA’S top court has overturned a decision that a major fine imposed by the country’s FIAU was unconstitutional, in a significant win for the organization.

The case relates to a €454,293 fine imposed by the Financial Intelligence Analysis Unit (FIAU) on payments firm Phoenix Payments Ltd for a series of alleged AML failures.
