NEWS: ‘Chaos’ over U.S. beneficial ownership reporting as FinCEN admits compliance is voluntary

U.S. officials have appealed a federal court decision blocking enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), while advising companies to “voluntarily” report beneficial ownership information (BO).

A nationwide preliminary injunction issued by a Texas court earlier this month ruled that the CTA is “likely unconstitutional as outside of Congress’s power.”
