NEWS: Truong My Lan, Vietnamese tycoon sentenced to death, appeals life sentence in separate ML case

VIETNAMESE property developer Truong My Lan, who recently lost her appeal against the death penalty for a $27 billion fraud, is now challenging a life sentence from a separate money laundering conviction, according to state media.

The 68-year-old tycoon, founder of Van Thinh Phat Holdings Group, was sentenced to death in April for defrauding Saigon Commercial Bank (SCB), which prosecutors allege she controlled.
