LATEST: Dismay as US pauses law banning overseas bribes; will mean ‘more business’ – Trump

U.S PRESIDENT Donald Trump has ordered the Department of Justice to halt enforcement of a law that prohibits Americans from bribing foreign officials to secure business.

“It’s going to mean a lot more business for America,” Trump said after signing an executive order directing Attorney General Pam Bondi to suspend enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), which was introduced in 1977. He called the law a “disaster”.
