NEWS: Banks should invest bumper 2024 profits to defend against AI fraud, says Germany’s BaFin

FINANCIAL institutions should use strong earnings to improve their defenses against AI-enabled fraud, the head of Germany’s regulator has said.

Mark Branson, the president of BaFin, said while new technologies such as generative artificial intelligence present opportunities for the industry, they also create new threats.
