NEWS: EU issues tiny number of prison sentences for sanctions breaches

SINCE 2017, only 30 people have received prison sentences for violating EU sanctions, according to an analysis by Investigate Europe.

For Russia-related sanctions, just 11 custodial sentences have been handed down across nine cases, with eight occurring since 2022. Most involved the sale of banned goods such as drones, electronics, or machinery.
