INSIGHT: UK’s SFO must prove it can prosecute fraud to convince firms to self-report, says expert

THE UK Serious Fraud Office (SFO) must prove it can win fraud cases in court if it wants its new self-reporting policy to work, a legal expert has said.

Under new guidance, businesses that report misconduct and cooperate could avoid prosecution by negotiating a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA).
