GERMANY’S financial regulator, BaFin, has fined Nexi Germany €30,000 for failing to maintain effective anti-money laundering (AML) controls.

Nexi, an Italy-based payment processor, provides transaction services to banks and businesses across Europe. BaFin found that between 2023 and May 2024, Nexi Germany’s electronic monitoring systems were only partially operational.
