NEWS: US Treasury seeks ‘maximum pressure’ on Iran shadow banking system

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to pressuring Iran’s economy, specifically targeting its ‘shadow banking’ network and oil sector.

Speaking at the FinCEN Iran Maximum Pressure and Counter Terrorism (IMPACT) Exchange Series, he linked recent Treasury sanctions to the Trump administration’s broader strategy.
