US Treasury Secretary, Janet Yellen, has warned that a digital dollar could take years to develop, as regulators engage in a six-month review on digital assets.
Speaking at an event in Washington D.C. Sec. Yellen stressed: “We must be clear that issuing a CBDC (Central Bank Digital Currency) would likely present a major design and engineering challenge that would require years of development, not months.”
