More than one in ten of the Limited Liability Partnerships (LLPs) ever incorporated in the UK contain “three of more money laundering red flags”, according to new research.
Anti-corruption group Transparency International UK has identified that more than 21,000 LLPs, which represent 14% of the total LLPs set up between 2001 and 2021 in the UK, share almost “identical characteristics” with those known to have been used in major money laundering schemes.
