The White House’s incoming chief of staff said President-elect Joe Biden’s response to the alleged Russian hack of US government agencies will be more than ‘just sanctions’ in an ongoing escalation between Washington and Moscow.
Ron Klain said Biden was planning ways to hit back against suspected Russian hackers who hacked into a dozen US government agencies and left thousands of American companies exposed, according to a Reuters report.
“It’s not just sanctions,” said Klain, who was previously chief of staff to Biden when he was vice president. “It’s steps and things we could do to degrade the capacity of foreign actors to engage in this sort of attack,” he said on national TV.
