NEWS: SEC looks to pause Coinbase case, seeks ‘potential resolution’

Coinbase has been locked in a legal battle with the SEC

THE U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has requested a four-week extension in its case against Coinbase, suggesting a possible settlement.

In a filing, the SEC asked a federal appeals court for more time to respond to Coinbase’s appeal. The exchange is challenging a ruling which found the SEC had made a plausible case that Coinbase sold unregistered securities. As a result, Coinbase wants clarity on how securities laws apply to crypto.
